The river

The lush green countryside of the Dordogne is criss-crossed by calm-flowing rivers. Le Moulin de Larcy stands on the Dronne: a flourishing habitat for countless species of birds, fish and river wildlife.

The crystal clear waters run over natural limestone and are home to brown trout. Anyone with an interest in nature, bird-watching or fly-fishing will find this an enchanting spot.

The river flows on all sides of the island and there are countless hidden corners to while away a little time while you read, paint, meditate or sleep. Slip away for an hour or so with a picnic and lose yourself among the mature trees of the woodland garden. Stop by the medicinal plant garden and the potager where owners, Simon and Anita Black, grow a wide range of organic vegetables which are available for guests of the apartments.
